Getting true duals

Well after all of this debating i have decided to go duals. I will probably be using a mid mounted magnaflow muffler di/do and mandrel piping. I stopped by our local exhaust shop and was qouted $450, and i think that is a pretty good price.

Im excited the exhaust is going on this friday or next tuesday.

I say leave the cats on but get a good set of high-flow ones. Leaving em off doesn't really do that much for you in terms of power, so why not just leave em and help with cleaner air?

Hard to understand California, they have the tightest air polution laws in the country, yet a whole lot of illegal California aftermarket parts are made in California. Kind of a double standard in my book.

The people that make the laws are probably not the same people that make the aftermarket parts.

haha i was thinking the same thing also alot of these aftermarket parts make the motor run more efficiently helping out mpg and even making the car burn its fuel more cleanly in some cases.

when i was in northern va the county i lived in (where im at now for work actually) their emissions standards are very similar to cali's. i had a large cam, heads, long tubes, cats, and true duals (out the back for emissions tests) it took a while to tune it right but once we got it, my car actually produced lower emissions than it did prior to the modifications and tune. i experienced a nice little court battle at one point due to getting pulled over for "improper equipment", ended up being able to get it tossed out after meeting up with an officer at the local emissions testing place so she could see for herself that it ran better than it did. She testified in court along with the paper work i submitted and i ended up getting stuck w/ just a 60 dollar fine for the long tubes but i didnt get nailed for the cats as the car had over 75k, which after 50k ur allowed to swap ur cats with OE quality ones, magnaflow and carsound cats are approved by C.A.R.B.

a week after this i moved to mississippi which has no real inspection nor emissions tests lol. prior i asked the female officer if she wanted to go out to lunch afterward court but she declined
