Not quite ...

Well today I changed my mufflers and pipes. I had Flowmasters (2) on the bird, and changed to a single (camaro style) magnaflow. While the shop had the mufflers off, we fired up the car. Wow, that sucked! It was as quiet without mufflers as it was with. So here is the question ...
If I remove the cats, which one(s) should I start with. Which will give me a better sound. (yes I know, the earth first people will hate me) Also I have an SCT flip chip, can it be reflashed to "forget" about the cats?
I like the sound of the magnaflow, but would like a bit more rumble.
Thanks

I agree with Red, the third didnt do much on my 95 either. I have the first two in place and straight pipes and its not very loud.

What about removing the first 2 and changing the 3rd to a high flow cat, do you think that might help.

Get high-flow cats for the first 2, and remove the 3rd cat. This way your car will be louder, perform better, and you will still be able to pass an emissions test. High flow cats are pretty cheap (I paid about $60 a piece for mine), and they don't hurt performance at all compared to a straight pipe.

maybe get 3rd cat gutted instead
it will cost a lil more in labor but save you further possible problems with passing physical inspection
