Quitest resonator??

I need one if I am basically not going to have anything else on my car - I am considering a dual in/out resonator - what one would offer the most -db noise reduction without compromising too much flow? I was thinking of even taking a borla XS muffler and using it there in place (if they make a size that will fit) any thoughts or ideas on this? If this gets done this way I will be using a "boom tube" nascar side exhaust so it will be the only place I could have a resonator/muffler

91 sc - put the stockgears back on, underdrive pullyes, rear air hydraulics, headers, no cats or resonator, lowered 1 1/2", 10% pulley, cam, 70k, rebuilt engine bored .30 over, finally fixed!

I have a 4.6L LX and I have replaced the resonator and third cat with a magnaflow dual in single out. I do have high flow cats on 2 1/4 down tubes but no mufflers on the rear. It is nice and quiet with just a bit of a rumble.

I think you would be fine with something similar.

I would be looking for a dual in/out resonator since I will be having boom tubes going out the side... what size (length/heigth) would be good for our cars? would a borla XS muffler work decent or magnaflow?

I used the Magnaflow #12258. It was 2 1/4 in 2 1/2 out. It was almost exactly the same length as the third cat and resonator.

so magnaflow's are better then borla's? I am not sure what diamater I will be using as the out will have to go from a round pipe to an oval transition, but what is about the length of these mufflers?

Here, try this link:

You can move around in here to find what you want. I can't say which is best. Magnaflow had the option I wanted. Maybe Borla does as well. Be aware of the tunnel opening you have to work with. Are you planning on going out both sides with your side exit. That is going to leave you a long way forward with the gas tank.

Lightbulb

ok these are what I am planning on getting:

http://www.musclemotorsports.com/exh...-36--used.html

He said they are more like $50 now, but I still see it as a good deal. He also said most people cut them in half and run them on either side, wich is what I am probablly going to do. Any input would be appriciated.
