New Exhaust! Pics and Sound!!

The setup is dual 2.5", midmounted Magnaflow muffler, with built in x pipe, two Magnaflow cats, and two 18" long, 3" slash cut tips. I deleted the third cat and resonator, and mounted the muffler in its place (like many have done) Here are some pics, and an exhaust clip.

i took that pic while I was under the car changing my tranny filter.

the sound clip....its crappy because I used a digital camera

Thanks to Rodeheavers Hot Rod shop in Uniontown, PA for the awesome job, and letting me sit in his 9 second mustang! I wanted to take it home

Jmod, Mark VIII 4R70W tranny, Mark VIII Aluminum Driveshaft, 03 Marauder TC and Flexplate, True Dual Exhaust with High Flow Magnaflow Cats, and midmount DI/DO Magnaflow Muffler, 18" Slash Cut Chrome Tips, AC Compressor Delete Pulley, 180 Degrees T-Stat, Scott White Faced Guages,

Sounds pretty sweet. But now you have to take the exhaust off to do the torque converter!!! Personally I would have cut the exhaust off, drove it around for a few days ignoring the CEL, then do the torque converter, then do the exhaust. But again, it sounds great!

well in theory that sounds great, only the exhaust was finished, before I needed a new torque converter.......mine just crapped out the day before yesterday, and the exhaust has been on for about 2 weeks.

New Exhaust! Pics and Sound!!

Sounds pretty mean. I was already considering going with the same Magnaflow muffler for my 5.0, and after hearing it I'm sold!

any thoughts on a setup like this on a 3.8? Or is it going to sound too raspy because of the lack of a resonator?

I dont know if it would sound raspy in the 3.8. One if the reasons I chose to go with magnaflow is because it doesn't sound raspy at all. It has a nice grumble sound to it. I know if you go to Magnaflows website, you can listen to sound clips of magnaflow exhaust on different cars, maybe look for something with a v6 and see how it sounds.

Check out here. Then click on the DI/DO mid-mounted magnaflow for the 3.8 and see if you like it.

When that muffler breaks in, it will get raspier... mine did. Same setup except deleted cats and 2.25" piping. Sounds nice.

Sold my Cougar . But I am in the market for another MN12 project!

The straight back pipe looks alot nicer than snaking through the tank. Could you take a side pic? Take it outside and down low. I just want to see how low that exhaust hangs.

Sounds great!

I wasn't talking about the 4.6 sound clip. I was talking about the link to the 3.8 DI/DO Magnaflow that was posted.

It sounded alot better than the stock exhaust I have.

I didn't even want to listen to the 4.6 clip because I know I would
