Thanks for the responses.
Thanks for the responses. My 342 shortblock is from Ford Performane Solutions, heads are old non adjestable Trick Flow Twisted Wedge. I previously had a Crane 2031 cam, but recently installed a custom cam 219 intake, 222 exhaust wth 115 lobe separation to try to get good idle. Lift is .556/.556 with 1.7 Ford Cobra rockers. I just installed Comp Cams dual valve springs. I wanted to install the Chev style Comp Cams new behive springs, but when I got them, the titanium retainers gave an installed heighth of only 1.71 inches which did not provide enough distance for the springs to compress with the new cam. The springs were fine, it is the retainers that have a different design that reduces the installed heighth to an unacceptable degree. I have also installed a Turbonetics 60-1 turbocharger in place the the previous T4. Only time on a chassis dyno was May 1, 2001. Torque was 539 at 3800 rpm, horsepower was 415 at only 4500 rpm. Test was done at 7 psi. I think the T4 turbo was way small as the torque and power sropped off quickly after 4500 rpm. New cam and 60-1 turbo should improve both. I am using MAC headers which are a pain to live with. In late 2002 I hit a cow at 70 mph on a dark Nevada highway. Score is Thunderbird 1, cow 0. I can thank the massive front bumper for my life. Due to the truck style bumper that my 93 Bird had, the suspension was not even touched. Car was rebuilt with 97 Bird front sheet metal. My body man said that all of the important dimentions were the same and I asked him to put on the 97 front sheet metal because it appears to have a lower Cd. I should button up the top end of the engine soon. I am contemplating changing from my EEC Tuner and P3M to a 94-95 Mustang PCM and Tweecer. I will get some photos and post them.
