have a ?

ok
my buddy got an srt-4 neon. my question is i believe its called a turbo timer, but what's the device that keeps your car running for a few minutes or so so you don't boil the oil in the turbo after you're done driving? my buddy needs one so he doesn't have to sit in his car for three minutes in order to get cooled down enough.

my other ride is an ambulance!

Useless for the most part, His turbo should be also water cooled. You only need to idle after spirited driving. I get out and go unless I just came back from driving like an animal

thanks tt281

but he and i agree with this better safe then sorry. but would a lot of freeway driving at high rpms get that turbo oil pretty toasty? not one for turbos so don't know much about this stuff trying to help him get it so his car lasts as long as possible. i'm not sure how the turbo is cooled im sure if i google searched it i could find out in less then a second. i would assume it's intercooled. although it isn't the the higher end one its the stage 1 setup thats 245tq/220hp so not sure if that makes any difference

If anywhere, this really should've gone in "Turbocharging" instead of "Turbo Coupe"

Steady state highway driving is one of the least demanding operating modes for an engine. The turbo does very little work in that state. One of the worst things you can do for a turbo system is drive it hard and then immediately park it. Oil coking is a very bad thing.
