Just FYI..

The fix for the turn signals and headlights is a new switch...about $50 from ford.

They (like all late 80's/early 90's HI-PO fords) have sensor failures, and DIS Ignition failures.

The 5spd version of the 88 has 50 more hp than the auto version.

Huh? Try again. The TCs didn't have a DIS.

I had a 86 Turbo coupe..was nice..till I rolled it! Only 61,000 miles.. The 87-88 have an IHI turbo as compared to the older 83-86 that have a T-3.The IHI spools much faster than the older T-3 Garrett. They also have a top mount intercooler as well, the older models had none. The also have 35lb injectors. The auto has 150HP..5spd 190HP. The 5spd has 3.55 gears..and the auto has 3.73's. They have an 8.8 traction-loc rear with discs. The Auto's have less boost..therefore less HP and also a single exhaust where as the 5spd has a dual outlet setup. As long as it has beeb maintained..should be good. Take the turbo intake tube off..and check the play in the shaft and also look for oil..sign of bad seals/worn bearings. Anymore info needed..drop me a email.

The 1st 2.3's to have DIS were the 2 plug per cylinder ones used in the 90 up Ranger then in the 91-93 2.3 Mustang. Other than that they all had a distributor ignition.

Yep. Two of my classmates are already racing there (18yr. olds). I am hoping to enter the "run what you brung" competition this year. Last year the v6 winner was a probe GT...I think my SHO would slaghter them

I may try that with my 89 Probe GL over here at Airborne..last year a 85GT Mustang one the V8 class. I'm WAY too afraid of running my Mustang..last year a MINT 78 T/A got hit by a damn car hauler racing him!! My dad used to have 2 late models..we went all over racing..that was about 6 or so years ago though. I'm into drag racing more...I run my Mustang almost every week...at least every other week at Napierville in Quebec. I even run my Probe!! [email protected]!!
