Disc brake question.

I'm the new guy here and have a question about turbo coupe brakes. Do all the turbo coupes have rear disc brakes? Are they all the same....83-88?

Only the '87 and '88 TC has rear discs. If you have an earlier TBird, it's a fairly simple matter to swap out the rear ends. Some brake plumbing work to mate the later rear to the earlier chassis, and a Mark 7 emergency brake cable assembly will work on the '86 and earlier chassis.

OK, follow up question? Do all the Turbo Coupes have 8.8 rear ends. If not, which ones do?

Keep in mind that the T'Bird rear ends are about an inch wider that a Mustang rear end.

Someone correct me on that, but I'm pretty sure they are wider. Before you get it, I'd highly recommend you double check.

Also the 87-88 TCs rear end gears will vary upon the trans that was used, the autos had 3:73 gears while the 5-speeds had 3:55 gears.
I did that swap in a 93 vert and it looked like A$$,I had draglites on it but still stuck out to far.I would just get the 8.8 out of a 5.0.
Thanks,
Chris

Hey 5.0 Chero! I sold the Mark a few months back and picked up a 89 5.0 Vert. Also sold my 64 Falcon Futura. I'll PM ya here...

Are there any problems (other than tire size) with the extra 1 1/2" axle width ??
