Fuel pump?

alright, how can you tell if a fuel pump is bad on an 87 turbo coupe. There is no fuel or pressure in the fuel rail,so I followed it back to the fuel filter.Gas will flow out of the line going into the filter, but not much gas will come out if the hose is hooked to the filter.I can hear the filter filling up with gas when I hook the fuel line back up but no gas comes out when it is hooked up.I can blow fuel through the filter with air, also, but how much of a restriction should there be.Also, shouldn't gasoline come pouring out of the fuel line going to the filter when you try to start the car?Or does the line have to be hooked up to the filter? So, what is wrong, fuel filter,or fuel pump? Thanks for any help

Do you hear the fuel pump "whirr" on when ya cycle the kea.

as for resting in the fuel filter on the fram ...almost none...inless its clogged

and check your fuel pump reset switch...in the trunk by the driver side tail light

unplugg it and see if it has started to melt

stock fuel presser should be 38-42

Honestly,I'm not sure if I hear the pump turn on,but I don't think it does.I know what it sounds like on my 95 T-bird,and I don't hear it on the turbo coupe. The fuel pump is in the gas tank on these cars, correct?and I'll check the fuel pump reset,I couldn't find it earlier, thanks for your help! But anyway,if the fuel pump was working wouldn't gas squirt out of the line when the line is disconnected?

The Fuel pump Inertia switch is in the trunk directly behind the drivers side tail light, you have to pull some carpet back, Also ya might wanna check the fuel pump relay if it's stock it's OLD and time to replace it anyway.
