Plenty of room in there for a 460. Actually you probably could get the stock hood to close. They have a lot more room than the MN12 does. If you want to see a sick TC, check out www.toohighpsi.com. The guy on there had one with a 351W with 2 eaton M90s on top of it, and it all fit under a stock hood.

Ok,Let me start off by saying it isnt a cheap swap.

What you need

Set of motor mounts,I found a set of mustang swap mounts on e-bay

Headers, I used hooker super comps 2" primary 3.5" collector

oil pan, I used a canton race pan. you can use a late model truck rear sump pan.

Starter, have to use a mini starter if you use the canton pan.

Mustang K member ,I used a QA1

mustang lower control arms to keep stock track width.

Set of stock 5.0 mustang springs or coilovers. i used 175# sprins on my coilovers and they are too light.

mustang trans crossmember so you can use a stang trans mount.

You will have to convert to a mustang power brake booster or go with manual brakes. I used manual.

A good aftermarket aluminum radiator with a e-fan that has 3,600+cfm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theres alot of little things as im sure you know to finish it up. It fits well and is not bad at all to work on I would say easier then a 302 in the same vech. I didnt have to beat on the car anywere to get it to fit.

^^You can see the water pump to radiator clearance.

^ header clearance down driver side.

^^ random picture to show height of carb/air cleaner (wieand stealth)
(4" filter on flat base) clearance will be better with a edelbrock intake or offenhauser

^^ just to show lenth and width

1987 TURBO COUPE -- 429/c-6 .headers,motorsports cam,ported heads,750 holley,high rise intake,electric waterpump,big shot plate kit,much much more!!!!!!
new numbers coming soon!!!

1988 5.0 BIRD ------ BEATER
long tubes,2.5 h pipe hi flow cats, mac flowpath mufflers,h.o intake/throttlebody swap, underdrives, short belt, electric fan, etc.............................

Here are some finished pictures. It will be easier to go in motor and tans together then it will each seperate.

^ will need a large cowl hood to run the air cleaner arrangemenet i have. The car isnt a driver for me so it spends its time covered.

^ just a side shot of the intake

^ finished up

*the radiator hoses are for a 1970 ford torino cobra... make it easier
