Mark VIIIs never received c heads. The reason the 94 IMRCs won't work on a 97 directly is in the way they are actuated. The 94s are actuated by vacuum diaphrams switched by a solenoid. The 97 uses an electric motor in a box with cables.

There were composite IMRC plates, but they were never on c heads for obvious reasons...

My 97 LSC had composite(plastic) IMRCs, but I havent checked to see how they are actuated. Next time my cousin comes by I'll check it out!

Intake Manifold Runner Control Used on the DOHC engines. Located between the intake manifold and the heads it open and closes to regulate torque and high and low rpms
