Mark VIIIs never received c heads. The reason the 94 IMRCs won't work on a 97 directly is in the way they are actuated. The 94s are actuated by vacuum diaphrams switched by a solenoid. The 97 uses an electric motor in a box with cables.
There were composite IMRC plates, but they were never on c heads for obvious reasons...
