what will fit.

I have two torque converters right now from dirtydog. One is a mark 8 bolt pattern and one is a large t-bird bolt pattern. Both are 3800 units designed for an explorer with full bolt ons and 373 gears. My question is this. Which one of these will fit on my 2003 mach 1 mustang with 4r70w? Also will the stall be ok for a mach one? I dont have the money currently to buy another converter. Any thoughts?

use the mark VIII one, the higher stall will be fine especially on a mach 1 motor

The Mark VIII one will bolt up to the Mach I flexplate.

Yes the mach1 flexplate is the small pattern. If you want to use the other one then change the flexplate. Large pattern flexplates are easy to come by.
