Transmission fluid....

Just curious as to wich fluid would be better for my 95 bird.....

Mercon® V ATF

Mercon V for sure but I would just run regular and not synthetic.

You can buy the valvoline Mercon V as shown above but NOT fully synthetic. I just put 12 QTS of it in my car the other day when I changed it.

IF you go Mercon V in a 95 (and it is a good idea) be sure you do a complete fluid change. drain the transmission AND the Torque Converter. Its not a good idea to be mixing fluid types, or at least that's what I've been told.

I planned on changing all off the fluid including changing the torque converter

What about Royal purple ATF? Has anyone tried that?

I have never been a fan of royal purple fluids. I believe in maintenance not fluid designed to last forever. I used motorcraft MerconV in mine. If I wanted to go to a synthetic fluid I would probably go with amsoil because they do make a fluid specifically for the merconV.
