Convert to 3/8 lines

I'm working on the 5.0s tranny and curious if its worth upgrading the cooler lines to 3/8s and what to do about fittings on the transmission and radiator. Also better to use aluminum or steel line?

If all else fails get a bigger hammer!

I prefer aluminum lien but you need a good bender. The fittings are 1/4 pipe to 3/8 inverted flare. I find using a 90degree fitting for the upper is really nice as making a bend that close to the end is not possible with the equipment we can use. The mastercool flaring tool is very nice to use for the flares.
If you get stuck and need help give me a call I can explain it all nicely.

Don't steel lines tend to rust?

Rust is not an issue here plus by steel I mean Poly-Armor.

Steel works ok, it's cheap, easy to get and strong. The poly armor stuff will last a long time. Aluminum dissipates more heat.
