Build Custom Rear Diff Mount?

Is there any reason I couldn't just build my own custom rear differential mount?

I'm thinking like the attached pic. Does it make sense?

That is essentially what the SCP mount is. I don't see why you can't make your own? Alan was toying with different designs a little while back as well.
