'01 stang 4r70w

what would it take to put a mustang automatic in my bird?...do these trannies bolt right up....will i need any more suplies other then the tranny and my old tranny.....i plan to get some quotes from shops on doing this swap

1995 Ford Thunderbird 4.6 LX - SC wheels, enlarged rear sway bar, full sound system, cut mufflers, PST 1 1/8" rear bar, Eibachs, Mark 8 LCA's, Al housed 3.55 gearset, cut mufflers

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L-Her stock DD

I believe all you need to do is change the solenoids in the tranny with your current ones. There may be more involved, but I think that's the big part.

the biggest part is that your speedometer will not be accurate if you are running a rear end ratio higher than 3.27.

This is due to the mustang output shaft.

So, if you want to run 3.73's with a mustang 4r70w then you need to take apart the transmission and install a thunderbird/mark output shaft.

The output shaft is the first thing that goes in the case during a rebuild, so you will have to start at point one.

ill worry about that when i get a new rear end as with my budget and plans i dont seee that hapening very soon
