Transmisson problems?

Alright guys, heres the situation. Recently, when I get to about 30mph..and hold it at that steady pace..the rpm's will jump to about 4k and then a sound will come from the car. It sounds like something on the bottom of the car is scraping the ground. It gets to be pretty loud. The only way from stopping it from doing this is to release the gas, then resume at the speed.

Also, it only happens when im going at slower speeds. On the freeway, and any fast paced places its fine.

My question is, is the the trans? If so..is there anything I can do to fix it?

You didn't state what gear this happened in, but it sounds suspiciously like
a one-way roller clutch failing.
