Mark VIII Trans in Bird?

Hey all, just wondering what needs to be done to put a 93 Mark VIII tranny in my 94 T-Bird? Picking up the engine and tranny tomorrow and work begins Monday or Tuesday. Thanks guys

There shouldnt be much needed... you may have to swap the manual lever out - and replace it with the one from your Tbird, but I'm not sure. It's easier to do this with the VB removed, but you might be able to do it without that added work. If you do need to swap the lever, i have an article in the WIP forum on the 5.4L tranny install... just use the portion youll need. the wiring and stuff should be identical.

I'm pretty sure the MLPS are the same in 93 and 94. I believe it was 98 that they changed (97 maybe). Thanks for your help though

the MLPS's should be the same... i'm talking about the actual lever, where the shift cable attaches.

I wish you luck man. Should be good I had a 96 mark VIII engine in mine with the 95 trans and the 96 computer did not mesh with the trans. Even though everything should be same different years can screw you up, even after a chip. But to remedy I had the trans which was on the VIII sent to me, slides in exactly the same. Took my mechanic a couple of hours and the car is perfect now. No shift problems at all. Of course I do now have the complete engine, trans, torque converter, computer and drive shaft off the same 96 mark VIII LSC in my 95 t-bird. Hey if your going to do it don't screw around do it ALL!!

When I put a 95 Mark tranny in my 94 bird I had to use my bird's tranny wiring harness because the Mark's harness was backwards (can't remember if it was male-male or female-female)
