Braking in gears?

My uncle just rebuilt my pumpkin out of a 90 SC. He rebuilt everything besides the casing, the splines, and one other gear I think. Anyways he dropped some 3.73 with the trac lock. I will be putting it in tomorrow morning. I have read the tech articles for braking in the new gears. I don't know if they mean a brand new pumpkin or what? I ask my uncle and he said that all you should do is let it run ( in gear of course ) on the hydrolic lift for 10 min or so to let the fluids get around. Would I need to brake them or what? Thanks.

You still have to break it in. If you don't you will hear a winding sound, kind of like winding tranny when breaking in 1st manual from 25 mph.
