Red face Gears affect cruise control+speed sensitive steering?!

I just read on a webpage, which seems to have a few errors, that changing ring and pinion gears affects cruise control and speed sensitive steering. How does it do this? Doesn't swapping out the speedo gear take care of it? Does my car even have speed-sensitive steering? Here is the webpage

Thanks

Speed sensitive power steering was standard on our cars...

I'm guessing the guy doesn't know about speedo gears because I switched mine when I put in a 3.73:1 pumpkin, cruise works, speedometer/odometer work, as far as I can tell so does the speed sensitive steering (less turning required at higher speeds)

Speed Sensitive Power Steering

The speed sensitive power steering uses less power assist at higher speeds. It has nothing to do with how much you have to turn the steering wheel to navigate a corner.

Guess I should have said turning force on the steering wheel. I didn't mean how far you have to physically move the wheel.
