will this shift kit work?

Mike,
Sure looks like the piece you'll want to me. It seems to be the best alternative for the AOD.

The AOD's differ a little by year, and some by engine, but the VB's are similar for most cars... except the police cars. Instead of P R N OD D 1, they get a P R N OD D 2 - they changed a valve in the VB not to allow manual 1st gear. I guess too many cops were downshifting to 1st at high speeds and blowing them up.

Maybe some day we'll get 'the man's' proper advice for that tranny too and we'll really be set. Good Luck.

hmmm, it says its a reprogramming kit and i read in another thread that the reprogramming kits are for the AODE and 4r's. is this right? is the transgo shift kit on summit the one i want to get?

That's what you need. "Reprogramming" as in reprogramming the shift points. Not digitally, however
