J-mod to a 98 MKVIII tranny

I looked for this I couldn't find it. Is it the same animal? Of coarse other than the springs. One other thing, how much should I plan on spending on a total swap for mercon V fluid? Is there a good filter that I should use?

just drop the valve body and drill the separator plate.

Install new valve body gaskets, and put fluid in it.

And you're done

Autozone, pep boys, etc... all carry Mercon V around here. Should cost about $40 for fluid. The 98 trans will have the better accumulators, but you may want to remove the lower 1-2 and definitely the 2-3 accumulator spring. So that and drill the plate. It's nice and easy.

You talking about re-pinning the harness? I think it's been gone over a couple times. It's probably in the tech article.

Check my article in the WIP forum for correct pinouts/TCC info. The article may prove very useful for your swap.
