how can i find out what rear ratio ?

hello group,
i found out that someone at some point replaced the rear end in my car, and i can thank them for that, cause it is trac-loc , leaves 2 nice black marks on dry pavement. my car is automatic trans. is there a way to tell if its a 3.08 ,3.27 gear etc. i have checked my rpm's at these speeds, this is what i get in overdrive....

55 mph= 1400 rpm's

65 mph= 1700 rpm's

thanks for any help

Frank

I haven't checked it at 65 but at 70 mph mine is at 2K RPM with a 3.27 rear gear.

It's not a 97 Sport, it just looks like one!

Mine is at 2,000 at 70 MPH. but I may not have gotten the needle back on right when I put the gauge faces on. In that respect I'd like to know what a stone factory 97 3.8 turns at 70MPH. Did I get the needle on right?

if you have a stock rear end in there you can also check your axle code on the sticker in your door jam. its the nmber/letter listed onder AX. once you get the code match it up here .
