3.73

I am going to buy a set of ring and pinion 3.73 gears. I have a guy to install them in the spring but do I need anything else but the gears and maybe a rebuild kit??
My car does not have traction lock either.

If you want it to have Trac-lok now would be a good time to buy the kit.

Unless your getting a deal on the labor, it would probably be cheaper to buy the FRPP pumpkin. Justin H is selling some now for $585 shipped, IIRC.

I buy my OEM Ford parts at 10% over dealer cost from Steve in White Bear Lake, MN.

i would get a trac lok, you can usually find one on ebay for 50-70$ or so. Also, contact Dan and get the master install kit M-4210-B its 80$ or so and has all the bearings and pinion hardware.

A Trac-lok will transform the way your car drives. Especially with a 3.73:1 gear. It is worth the little extra cash to get a trac-lok if you are going as far as rebuilding the diff and putting new gears in.

I'd pick up a used trac lok, get new clutches for it and throw it in at the same time.

A quick note about the 8.8" master rebuild kit. From Dan is like $71, but it does NOT include the inboard and outboard axle bearings and seals. You'd have to buy those separate.
