Maybe it's pushing out of the dipstick tube?

These are highly engineered precision vehicles, the first step in diagnosing the problem is to strike the suspected offending part sharply and repeatedly with a blunt object, then re-test.

Usually the only way it would do it is if the fluid was too full in the tranny. I'm sure there is another reason for it, but that seems to be it most of the time.

I used to smell a funny smell after i had been out driving the car hard, i thought it was trans fluid getting real hot and making the smell. Turns out it was the rear tires getting hot from Barking 2nd and normal driving. Smell your rear tires, next time you smell the smell and see if thats where it's coming from.

That could be too. I noticed after looking back at your sig. that you have the J-mod but no external transmission cooler. If you drive it too hard too long, you could very well be smelling the fluid cooking. My old AOD used to smell like this when I drove long/hard for extended periods of time, and never once did it leak.
