Installed Mark VIII Tranny.....

Well after 2 days of work we finally got the 98 Mark VIII trans in. We ran into a few bumps but nevertheless it is in. Only problem is I thought it was going to fix my shudder and the slipping feel i get when i accelerate but it didnt. This shudder has been going on for a year or so, I originally changed plug wires and cleaned MAF, then I replaced TC with Mark 8 TC and now I have replaced the tranny. Any other ideas? Its been a long bloody knuckled weekend and come to find out worthless, anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve

i'm assuming you already put in Mercon V in the tranny? that would be the first step if you haven't. also, it could be the u-joints, the tranny/crossmember mounts, or the differential bushings. i just replaced all these parts on my car, and it helped eliminate the shudder some, but not completely. the differential bushings helped the most, i think....got them at ww.mn12performance.com, and they were easy to replace. the tranny/crossmember mounts and u-joints were a lot harder, cause you gotta drop the exhaust for the tranny/crossmember mounts, and partially drop the gas tank to get the driveshaft out. once the shaft was out, however, it was extremely easy to get the old joints out and the new ones in.

it could also be your tires if they're fairly old, they could be out of round or starting to seperate from the belts, and that would definitely cause a shudder.

just start with the cheapest thing and work your way up from there
