diff between M5R2 for tbird and truck?

Well, I went to the dealer tog et a quote on a tranny for my woman's sc. 300$ labor and 1500 for tanny.

I am thinking maybe I could get a reman or used M5R2, but, I search ebay, and see some for trucks.

What are the diff between the oens for the car and one for the truck? I am unsure of what would be required to make the truck tranny work.

Right now, the synchros in her sc are shot, and, she has a hard time double clutching, I would like to get it replaced b4 I have to worry about her being stuck somewhere cuz she finished the tranny off.

Thanks

Not sure about the truck M5R2s, but you might check Greenleaf (www.greenleafauto.com) for a SC M5R2, I'm sure they have some and you should be able to get a fair price.

The truck M5R2 has some different internals, some bits are the same. The case is different, and the shifter location is way ahead of where it needs to be in an MN-12.

i agree, just like the 5.0 HO from a mn12 and a 5.0 HO from a fox stang, overall same engine but with slightly different parts
