Shifting problem

I have a 90 thunderbird I just completed the conversion from automatic to manual but i have a small problem. When shifting 1-2 and 2-3 or in downshift from 4-3 3-2 2-1 the gears grind ( in short shifting into 3rd 2nd or 1st). The gears grind till eventually the rpms drop after appling the clutch then once the rpms come down it eventually will shift into gear.
My thoughts are the synchro's are bad or the clutch is not disengaging but im not sure which or even if it is either. Not sure how common it is for 3 synchros to go out I would think it be more common just to have trouble with 2 gears and not three, But I also thought if it was the clutch it would grind gears in all 5. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be or how to make sure that one or the other is truly the problem. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreaicated

Thanks in advance for all ur help

What transmission did you use? M5R2 (super coupe)?

I buy my OEM Ford parts at 10% over dealer cost from Steve in White Bear Lake, MN.
