when i drive my 95 xr7 and put it in first sometimes it works good when it is cold but when the car gets hot and i put it in first it seems to slip or something is this commom and what can the prob be?
It sounds like the forward clutch seals are starting to leak. This isn't good news. I'd recommend you start searching up on 98+ transmission swaps, as it sounds like you may need one in the near future.
My best guess would be that as the trans heats up, the fluid gets thinner and the case expands slightly more than the seals, since they are steel and the case is aluminum.
If it is indeed the forward clutch seals, it will continue to get worse.
but why does it only do it on 1 but not when the tranny is in drive?
