t-45 swap trouble codes

when I swapped in my t-45, naturally I set off like 7 or so codes. I got an exemption for emissions inspection this year, but they said I need to have the codes gone by next year. Has any one tried using a Mustang GT computer or anything of that sort to alleviate this problem?

Just call lonnie at blueovalchips.com and have him burn you a chip to delete the auto trans controls.

By the way, how does the car run without a tune? I have heard that it becomes almost undrivable because the computer randomly retards timing and stuff based on when it thinks it should be shifting. Is this true?

Your question would explain why I get what seem to be random misfires. This only happens occasionally, and when it isnt doing that it runs beautifully. The car is obdII, though, so can you burn a chip or do you have to have some other type of tune?

You can have a chip burned which will piggyback on the EEC or you can have the EEC reflashed. Either way make sure you call Lonnie

Haven't I read somewhere that the mustang computer will go straight into a 97 t-bird(possibly 96 also)? If that's the case it would be quick and easy to swap in an ECM. Of course advanced timing and all that stuff with the chip is cool too.

I'm not sure if that will work or not, but you'd probably need a tune anyways if you did that so you could turn off the PATS function in the stang EEC.

Trans was from a local guy who was getting out of the hobby, the rest was pieced together by myself by searching ebay and local resources.
