5-Speed Swappers, I need some advice
How did you seal the hole where the new shift rod exits the back of the original shifter box? I created a rubber "doughnut" to slip over the shift rod, and used silicon to seal it to the transmission. However, it's not working. During high RPM runs, the fluid seems to be splashing onto the shift rod, and getting out through the rubber seal by leaking along the shift rod. It then falls onto the 3rd cat and smokes.
Should I retry the rubber seal, trying to get a better fit around the shift rod, or do you have another solution that is guaranteed to work so that I only have to take it apart once?
