Possible MLPS, what do you think?"

Ok, here's the situation. I left for work and when I went to get on the on ramp it shifted into first then second and was holding in second. I put it in neutral and shifted back into drive and it didn't even want to go into gear. When I put the shifter in first then second I have the gears no problem, but in drive it's erratic. I put it in drive to get back home and it went into first fine but wouldn't go to second, I put it in second and it shifted fine. Then I put it back in drive once it was in second and it wouldn't go to third.

Now a while back (3 1/2 years ago)I had the trans fail on me and I'm 99% sure the trans is fine. When it failed before, the shifting was fine although when it went to shift to third there was no third, it was like going into neutral. So I don't think it's toast, I'm thinking a bad sensor specifically the MLPS.

Turned out to be a bad TPS. I tested the MLPS and it was fine. Put in a new TPS and it runs and shifts like a champ now. I love talking to myself =).
