replaced the MLPS as a start in diagnosis as to whether trans is toast or not. Changed the MLPS still have neutraling problem, now also the OD light in the dash flash off and on. also car doensn/t want to go into first on the kick down.
i double checked all my alignments when putting switch in, doe it need to be fine tuned or what?

Do you reverse lights come on when you put the shifter into reverse? If not, then the position of the MLPS needs to be adjusted.

The MLPS needs to be installed with the tranny in Neutral.

As a suggestion;

If you are now getting a flasing OD light, then you could also get the codes scanned, as one is now being generated.

Mlps connector was not tight. My hand is in a brace right now i just didn't plug it in tight (duh) oh well that didn't fix the problem. pretty sure OD band/servo/clutch is gone all other gears fine. so out comes the tranny (maybe this weekend as i have a four day shot) i'm gonna add a trans cooler and use mercon V. i'll transfer the new MLPS over to the other tranny ( i have a 67K mile unit) i've read about the accumulator and servo update do these apply to the mid 97 tranys or is the update already in.

i'd rather go slow than not go at all
