What is a J-mod?

Probably a dumb question, but what is a j-mod and how good of an upgrade is it? Thanks.

If you don't feel like doing it yourself I'm about 2 hours away and have everything needed on hand to do it. I'm sure there are a couple guys in your area that can vouch for me as well.

The J-mod is a valve body alteration (shift kit nonetheless). Lots of hole drilling into the VB. Most people put in new 1-2 and 2-3 accum pistons when they do the mod as well. It's recommended that you install a tranny cooler and use Mercon V fluid when you do the mod as well (the sooner you do these two, the better).

See the TECH ARTICLE for the how to.

I plan on doing mine this fall when I actually have a place to do it...oh yeah, and when I can afford to buy an Xcal2; then I can change my shift points. Then again, I don't do trannies, so I'm going to have to have someone do it for me. Just one thing I don't touch at all.

89 Cougar XR-7...slightly modded, 240 rwhp / 340 rwtq, Best time as of 4/22/12 = 13.11 @ 103.82, 1.78 60'
