96 tbird tranny fit in a mercury grand marquis?

I want to put the sorta after market tranny out of my 95 (less than 30,000) in to the 96 (more than 45,000 on that tranny). Thats if it will fit the 96 tranny in to my wife's 94 mercury grand marquis. I hate the way the 96 shifts. It is like a old ladies car. Step on the gas, feel the power all the way up to 70 MPH no shift...

The shift points are changed with a computer tune so if you put a different trans in there it will probably shift the same based on what it is being commanded to do

There is no limit to what you can acheive if you don't care who gets the credit.

Is it better than the one in the mercury Grand Marquis? With 170000 miles on it?

Blah Blah, if we do it we do it...Iam just stoked that we are having so many people wanting to show. I have the money to get two lifts at the hobby shop plus pay for everyone to work there. But swaping out three trannies is gonna be a PITA...What ever ya'all think.

Tes, the 96 has better components and is simply a better transmission. No doubt about it. No matter the miles.
J-mod the 96 and be done. You can do it in about an hour
