O/D Off Switch!

I took my shifter off and now my switch doesnt work? I checked the wire and it isnt piched or cut in anyway. Is there a fuse that goes to it that could have blew somehow? If so Where is the fuse located?

if the fuse for it were out the hvac wouldn't work either. odd's are the wire's tore inside the insulation. one way to find out is to cut the plug from the car (not the shifter end. leave enuff to splice the plug back on. strip the wires and tap em together . if it kicks out of o/d you know the shifter is junk. if the shifter is junk one alternative is to put in a hurst ratchet shifter with button on the handle like me

Thanks, It was the shifter! I checked the whole wire and it was fine, so I cut the wire from the shifter and tapped the 2 ends together and the O/D off light came on, and when I tapped them again it turned off! What type of switch should I use to hook up the wires to?
