Rear end question....

I just replaced my 3.08 gears with 3.73s and now the speedo is way off.
Has anyone fiqured out how fast they are actually going at a certain speed?
I dont have the money now for the new speedo gear and need to know how fast i am REALLY going compared to what my speedo says...thanx....

An easy way is to have a friend drive along side of you say at 60mph and then read your speedo. It will give you an idea how far off you are. At 60 mph my speedo has me at 82mph so I really need to change out the speedo gear

Put a purple 21 tooth speedometer gear in it and be done with it.
I guess this site isn't much help, however if you had bothered to read through the extensive tech articles you could have found the very information I speak.

Seriously, how can you afford a gear swap, but not a $15 speedo gear? And more importantly, how can you do a gear swap and not know enough math to calculate the speedo error? It's not rocket science, 3.08/3.73 = 0.83. So your real speed is 83% of what is indicated. Man, my collection of college degrees is really paying off now.

Sorry for being so sarcastic, but come on, a little searching and a little thought would have negated the need for this whole thread.

Use a gps to find speedo error...

It helps to have someone else read it while you watch the road...
