Mark8 Aluminum Pumpkin

I did a search and could find the answer...I know a benefit is that it is lighter but was wanting to know the real limits to these cases; do they crack or warp, are they noisey?? Just trying to figure out their downsides.

When they get really hot like in a roadrace the clearances changing screws up the preload on the bearings and the front bushings can start to melt. Otherwise in a street car they are just fine.

Weren't the cobra guys ripping the aluminum ones apart, and going to the Iron ones? I thought I read something about that somewhere...

I dont plan on having any more than 350 RWHP, so that shouldnt be any problem, hopefully.

technically yes, the aluminum housings are not as "tough" as iron..

they were snapping covers using IRS braces improperly installed

are there any things tricky about installing them or are they just a "bolt in"?

Installing the components into them is tricky. The problems with preload are due to that. You have to spread the aluminum housings to load them.
