I'm going to be bringing my car into a dealership to have some tranny work done -- primarily to have the accumulators updated to the newer style and the fluid moved over to Mercon V... oh and the PCM update. Since I want to come off as somewhat ejimicated, I'd appreciate it if someone can tell me if I have anything messed up.
1) From what I gathered from the tech articles and the TSB, the latest 1-2 and 2-3 accumulator part numbers are F7AZ-7F251-AA and F7AZ-7H292-AB (?). I'm going to order these parts on my own. If anyone knows of newer part numbers than this, or the best place to find the latest info, please let me know.
2) Are there new/updated springs to go with the accumulators, or are the originals still the ones in use? Also, should I just have the springs replaced while the guy is in there, even if they're not broken? They seem pretty cheap. The latest part numbers I have are F75Z-7F284-AA (1-2 top), F3LY-7F284-A (1-2 bottom), and E0AZ-7F285-A (2-3 bottom?????).
3) How hard is it to have the EPC solenoid changed? It's suspect
and if it's a cheap part and can be done while the guy's in there I might as well just have it changed. I'm thinking P/N F6AZ-7H111-A.
4) If someone said my forward clutch seal rings are leaking, is there anything I can do about this or is this just something that I have to let go until it dies? It's not a big deal if I have to get a new transmission soon so I can take the news.
Thanks guys for the help. I'm especially uncertain about the 2-3 part numbers. Can't seem to find much about those. I guess since all the parts are fairly cheap I could just let the dealership get them, but I'm concerned that they won't get the right ones (the newer stuff).
