tranny cooler hard line hookup

I know I know this has been talked about forever and forever many and many of times, but im braindead from my monitor glow. My tranny cooler has 1/2" NPT female threads on it. And of course the hardlines are 3/8" (correct me if im wrong). can someone posts linkes on jegs or summit for what I need to hook up the hard line to it? I dont want any AN steel braided lines, only the stock hardline. Thanks much for the info.

The fittings on your cooler you can buy brass fittings that go right in there. Double check they aren't flared inside, many of the aftermarket coolers will accept steel 3/8 tube directly and they usually supply a fitting to switch to a barb. I prefer direct 3/8 however on most vehicles I like a flex point of abut 6-8 inches where the lines connect to a short piece of rubber. A nice place to put a filter after a transmission overhaul to catch any remaining pollutants. Don't forget to flare the lines I keep hearing I didn't and it's working fine. Thats illogical thinking to me. It only takes a few seconds of starving your transmission of fluid to do permanent damage. Also consider all the normal debris on first change after a rebuild. Generally that is friction material and leftover from the old radiator. There are machines out there to shear the frictions and reduce that, but I don't know of anyone using them.

alan, i know that much info. I already have one in there and planned on putting another next to it. I didnt plumb the first one, i let a mechanic do it. He has hard line all the way through it except for about 2 inches of rubber hose just before and after the cooler. The model i have doesnt have any hardware

Well you need a fitting that is 1/2 npt to 3/8 inverted flare. I'd have to double check it but that sounds like a 4r100 case fitting.

oh you mean the GM trannies have a 1/2" NPT threading?

Brass ones are easy to get at any parts store, I prefer the OEM steel ones, but I have used the brass many times as well. I do not have the part number ask Jason maybe.
