Quick Question

I'm looking at a '97 to replace my recently wrecked '94 and I need to know something. I already know that it doesn't have traction control but how do I know for sure if its trac-lok or not? Thanks.

Traction Lok.

1. Read the tag on the axle cover.............if it has an "L" on the tag between the gear ratio it's traction lok.

2. Jack up the car in netrual, turn one tire/wheel if BOTH move in the same direction it's traction lok. If one goes forward and the other reverse, it's an open rear end.

3. check the door jam certification label, the axle code will tell you what it should have come from the factory with.

'97 should be...
E = 3.27 Traction-lok
5 = 3.27 open rear

Or course you'll need to do 1 & 2 above anyway to confirm it that's what's in it now and still working.
