If you don't intend to tear it down and do some critical updates to it then leave it alone. Linkage seal, pangasket, front and rear seals. Change those and be done with it until it fries.

Not to hijack a thread, but...

What would cause an aod to not go into or out of gear? My bro called me over, and his truck was running, he had just driven home, and when he went for park it just stopped, and would grind gears either way the column shift lever was moved.

It was in a neutral, but not according to the indicator.

I turned the engine off, put it in park, and it is fine, and has never done this again...

/end hijack; sorry...
