28" drag tire questions

I'm looking into buying larger diameter tires to race my turbo car and wonder what brand and size 28" tires some of you guys using.

I've currently got a set of well worn M/T ET drags 26" X 10.5 X 15 mounted on 15" LX wheels. I would like to maintain the same tread width or a little wider. Currently 9.7" tread width. Still using the stock bolt pattern, so wheel choices are very limited.

Leaning towards a set of M/T ET Streets 28" X 12.5 x 16 with a 10" tread width mounted on 16" SC wheels, but not sure if the wheel will be wide enough. Next smaller size is 28" X 11.5 X 16" but they only have a 8.70" tread width. Hoosier Quick Time Pro DOT slicks are avail in 28" X 11.5"x 16" with a 10.0 tread width and they are also an option.

Don't really want to stay with a 15" wheel because they are too narrow and the tires I'm using must be very low on pressure to get a decent contact patch. I'm also concerned that going much larger on the sidewall height is going to cause greater swaying at high speeds.

Looking for input from some of you guys before deciding. Mainly on 15" vs 16" wheels and M/T vs Hoosier tires.

Thanks, David
