Tire size question

I got a free set of 235-70-R16 tires brand new off an SUV. I need new tires but can't afford em right now, are these too big to fit as a temporary for a week?

Sure, they'll probably work OK .... but keep in mind that last part about your speedometer reading 55.1 while you are running 60 actual. The trooper's radar will be reading the actual speed. Extrapolating the 91.8333% true speed your reading will mean at an indicated speedo reading of 65, you'll actually be running 70.78 mph. At an indicated 75 you'll actually be cobvering ground at the rate of 81.669 miles per hour.

I wouldn't be pushing the speed limits and any "assumed" or "rumored tollerance" like that.

A fine pair ... ... and whatever you do, Have a Safe Trip!

I'm guessing that 29" tall tires are going to rub, especially on the front when turning.

Why not try and sell the brand new tires you got free for money towards properly sized tires for your car?

Sold = 96 Thunderbird
