Question Will a 215\70\15R fit in our spare tire compartment?

My second car (1994 TBird 4.6) has the typical mini-donut spare tire in the trunk and I am not a huge fan of putting an almost motorcycle tire on my near 4,000 lbs. MN12 if I had a flat. I was wondering if anyone was lucky enough to get a normal size spare tire with their car and what size it is. Also has anyone else put in a 215\70\15R spare tire in place of the donut in the trunk and had no issues? I was hoping on using a factory fan-blade rim. Thanks in advance!

Where did you put your spare tire then? Just threw it in the trunk?

I have the same, and it sticks up about 3". to fit a full size spare you'd need to do some extensive sheet metal work, including some bracing as the car is basically a uni-body.

What was the size of the conventional spare Ford offered as an option instead of the mini-donut? Does anyone know?
