I am wondering how fat of a tire can i stuff on stock 16" rims on the rear of my 92 coug?
I was hoping i could fit somewhere along the lines of a 255/60 or bigger, currently i got 225/60's. any help?

255/60R16 would be wider and taller than your OEM 225/60R16. 235/60R16 is about the largest 60-series 16" passenger car tire you will find. Anything larger than that will be an SUV / light truck tire.

If you're after wider, not taller, look at 255/50R16. It's pretty commonly available, and will be roughly 1" wider, and maybe 1/2" shorter.
