275/40R18 is a nice size, width is good as well as diameter. In 17", there aren't really any tires wide enough for 10" wheels that have enough diameter, if you want minimal fender gap. Many people run 275/40R17, but that size will be roughly 1" shorter than the stock tire size, and our cars have big wheelwell openings.

yea thats the bad thing, i dont like alot of fender gap, i have notcies when ppl run a 275/40 theres still quite an bit of fender gap on a lowered car. i was think in the lines off a 295/35/18 or a 315/35/17 but that that 315/35/17 tires rim width is suggested for a 10.5 rim not a 10inch and was wondering maybe if anyones done that. i was thinking bigger for the 18 to

315/35R17 will be the same diameter as 275/40, too short. And a 315 is going to be hanging out anyway. 295/35R18 is only about 1/2" shorter than stock. Charles Brown has that size on his 95 SC, but they are stuck on 8-1/2" or 9" wheels I believe. 285/40R18 is another option, actually a bit taller than stock. With increased wheel diameter, you can tuck the wheels a bit further under on the rear, to a point, since the barrel of the wheel is away from the outboard point of the rear stab. bar.
