metal center caps for 93-95 sc??

are they available?? they dont have to have the bird on,...eveidently they cant powdercoat the factory caps cause they are plastic and will melt,im looking at having the "liquad chrome" done, which looks more like a polished alumin. than chrome, but does look nice..plus they wont be all chipped and peeling! thanks for any info!

i think the older (89-92) caps fit, i'm pretty sure those are metal, plus they still have the bird on them

And you thought correctly! The older caps he mentioned are metal and do fit the newer SC/Sport rims.

Your right. Now that I think about it, I think it was Turbo Coupe center caps that were metal and fit the newer SC/Sport rims. My memory is a little foggy I do know they exist though, I had some years ago and AndyR has some on his car here.

But they are plastic and will melt if you try to powercoat them.

the guy says they may not completely melt, but will at least be "distorted" and wont fit right,if they fit at all,i may look at taurus, mustang or tempos or something, theres got to be a metal cap to fit the newer style wheels somewhere,i seen where mustang has some metal one, that have the ford oval in them, that wouldnt look bad i guess

Like I said up a few posts, the center caps from 89-91 tbird LX rims are metal, and fit in place of the plastic ones on the 94/95 SC rims, and they have the tbird logo too! Those center caps are exactly what you need, and they are cheap and easy to find.

Okay, for the record: I just took a metal center cap with black Tbird emblem off of my '88 Turbo Coupe and it fit on my '95 SC wheel.
I tried one of the metal '92 SC center caps on the '95 and yes, it is too large.

ok..so we know for sure that..
-89-92 supercoupe caps will not fit the 93-95 style sc wheels..
-87-88 turbo coupe metal center caps will fit the 93-95 style sc wheels..
-there is some confusion that the lx caps may fit but they are plastic,i looked at the mall tonight at 91 or so lx and it had plastic caps ,i was tapping on them, people probably thought i was crazy...
tinman 72...how did the cap look on the sc wheel? did it look like it belonged there,or was it different looking than the cap that supposed to be on there? thanks for your trying the caps on and all for me..maybe by the end of the weekend i will know exactly what i need, which sounds like 4 tc center caps
