Some Pictures (22" wheels)

Well, The weather wasn't half bad and i had some time on my hands, so after some cutting, grinding, and trimming, I got my ney 22's mounted on the car.

The wheels are TIS 07's 22x8.5 with a FWD offset.

Even I think they are a little big... hahaha. But i love em just the same.

As far as i know there are only 4 birds of our years on 22's. mines the only supercoupe.

feel free to post, lemme know what you think.

This post would have fit in nicely in the existing "wheel pics" thread: http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=98026
Maybe that thread should be stickied. Looks nice by the way.

How 'bout an *average* height side shot? The first one looks like it's a 4-wheeler, while the rest are mostly all the way down. I'd like to see what it looks like with an average 1"-2" gap, how I imagine you normally drive it.

Also see THIS THREAD for a good understanding of how the term "ghetto" applies to our cars.

I certainly don't think your car belongs in the ghetto thread. My favorite is the second picture of your car with the front down. I really like a rake like that on a car.

usually ghetto refers to cheap, and hacked. I dont appreciate that man. I work at a custom shop. I did all the work to this car, front to back.Engine swap Interior swap, more chrome under the hood than you can shake a stick at. bagged it myself, and made those wheels fit myself. the work is done very well.

I dont mind if you dont like how the car looks. But please dont attack my work on a personal level. its uncalled for.

it seams to me the style of custumizing you like should be done with a different style of car, a supercoupe is a sports car. you should use a different car caprice classic or caddy, or a truck. does anyone else here agree with me

I like all kinds of customizing. in fact i have a truck im modifying as well... but I dont consider the sc a sports car, more of a luxury coupe.

i like the look of these cars low with big wheels. its my personal taste.

and caddys and caprices have a very similar look to the SC. with more power. so why would it make a huge difference if i used one of those as a base. besides. everyone modifies caddys and caprices. i wanted to be different and maybe get some exposure for our cars in places it wouldnt normally be...

dont take what anyone says here into account outside of this board. I think that you should be able to do what ever you want to your vehicle without ridicule from anyone else. For god sakes you spent the money and the time and effort to make your car what you want it to be. Thats the whole basis for modding your car in the first place for YOUR enjoyment not that of the internet with people you dont know. I hate how the answer to which rims should i get is always chrome cobra r's and what engine should i do is always 02 explorer. Granted those are cool, but they are not the only choices. This board should only be used for refrencing modifications and such not replicating other's vehicles. So please for sanitys sake keep doing what your doing.

Nice rant. But the boards is not stuck on one thing.Like Explorer swap or Cobra R's.

Most of the time when someone is asking about a motor swap the PI and DOHC are brought up because they are easy and not expiensive swaps.

And 99% of the post are"Which motor would be the best choice to swap for the least amount of money."

pjsbird,I love what you did with the car.And like I said I am not a fan of Big rims on these cars. But thats my opinion and my opinion of your ride is that you did some great work there.Keep it up man.

Just an FYI, check out craigslist. You aren't the first, second, third, fourth or probly hundredth car to roll 22's. I've seen a billion of them before this one. Too big for our cars. 2.5" of sidewall FTL.

you are taking that wrong. i meant feel free to comment on your opinion of the car. he said it looked ghetto, to him meaning it looks like the cars he ses in the ghetto with big wheels. At my shop, the term ghetto refers to shady work, bad craftsmanship, and hacked jobs.

I assure you all work done to this car has been done properly. Nothing is hacked, and i didnt cut corners on the work itself.

We had a miscomunication as to what was being said. I thought he was critisizing my work, not how the car looks. which is not true.

anyways, it was between me and him, and we dealt with it, so dont worry about it.
