45 MM Too much or too little offset?

Howdy...I am taking a casual glance at some local 18x8 wheels, with a 45 mm offset...will these fit, or go in/out too far on the thunderchicken?

Thanks,
Larry

yes you are correct. According to the Sticky 36mm to 42mm. I'm about to do 40mm. Hope they work out.

Actually they will have less backspacing (4mm) than an 18x9 ET36 wheel, so they should fit. They will "stick out" 12mm more than a stock 15x6.5" wheel. add a 5mm wheels spacer and you'd be all set.

45mm will not fit the front,it rubs on the spindle, but the back looks like it fits fine, the reason i know is i took my buddys 2008 17 inch bullits off his car which are 45mm and tried them on my 93 cougar and that was the results.my guess would be to go from a 38 to 40mm offset which would be right in the ballpark.
